Manual generation: the Generate page

Generating tweets, replies, quotes, threads, and articles — pasting sources, choosing length, score, and publishing.

last updated: June 11, 2026

Five generation types

  • +tweet — a single post from a topic or a source
  • +reply — an answer to a tweet in your voice
  • +quote — sharing a tweet with your commentary
  • +thread — a chain of 3–10 tweets
  • +article — long-form text (X Premium long post)

Give a source: pasting a link is enough

Both an X link and a website/article link work on every tab. When you paste a link, the content is pulled in seconds, previewed, and the generation is based on that content.

  • +A normal tweet link — the text is pulled, generated in one step.
  • +A tweet containing only a link — the news/article inside is followed automatically, and the generation is based on the article (the real tweet is still quoted when you publish).
  • +An X Article (long post) share — the title and preview text are pulled.
  • +An image/video-only tweet — you're asked to describe what it is in 1–2 sentences; the system doesn't make up what it can't see.
tipIf you accidentally paste a link into the text box, you won't be scolded — the link is moved to the source box automatically.

Length and tone

There are five length tiers: Short, Medium, Long, Very long, Max. Credit cost rises with length and is always shown live on the generate button. You choose the tone with 9 content types (hot take, story, list, question...) and 6 tones (professional, casual, provocative...); the composer remembers your last settings.

Generation history is permanent

Below each tab, your recent generations of that type stay — newest on top. It's designed for generating a few variants in different tones to compare, and coming back the next day to publish the one you liked.
